The journey began when I was just 12 years old. As an exchange student in Japan, I first tasted matcha—a vibrant green tea that captivated my senses and sparked a passion that would follow me through life. This was nearly three decades ago, long before matcha gained its current popularity; back then, it felt like Japan's best-kept secret.

As I traveled the world, I sought out the exquisite flavour of matcha, falling deeper in love with each sip. By the age of 18, I found myself living in various Asian countries, where tea—and matcha—became an integral part of my daily routine. It was during these formative years that I began to truly appreciate the calming ritual of preparing and enjoying matcha.

However, my journey was not without challenges. I faced significant health issues, including lupus and depression. In my search for relief, I discovered that coffee only exacerbated my symptoms. When I made the switch to matcha, I noticed remarkable improvements in my well-being. It became not just a beverage, but a lifeline.

Three years ago, I moved to Australia, where I soon realized that high-quality matcha was hard to come by. The recent surge in popularity brought many new products to the market, but I quickly discovered that not all matcha is created equal.
